A personal welcome from Doug Flynn

Doug Flynn joined his father’s company in 1982, working in the field. He got hands on experience by working in estimating, project management, branch management, regional management, and various other positions. Today, as President and CEO, Doug is the executive sponsor of the company’s strategy and culture.

Flynn University

Providing learning and development opportunities for our people is a cornerstone of our success. Affectionately called “FU” by our crews, Flynn University is a series of custom training programs available to every Flynn employee.

Flynn University for Frontline Coaches (FUFC) is a two-day training session for members of our roofing crews who want to coach rookie roofers on their crews. The program is supported by a coaching app, developed in-house, that connects rookies to their coach, and provides opportunities for questions and feedback.

Flynn University for Frontline Leaders (FUFL) is an accelerated 2-day leadership program designed specifically for leaders/future leaders of our field operations. The focus is on building leadership skills through self-awareness.

Flynn University for Superintendent Advancement (FUSA) is a virtual offering that focuses on a variety of key topics that are specific to a Superintendent's role. This program will take a deep dive into role clarity, management & communication skills, creative problem-solving, planning & prioritization, risk management, and leading change.

Flynn University for Project Management (FUPM) provides the tools needed to be successful in managing projects at Flynn. This program is facilitated by several of Flynn's subject matter experts.

Flynn University for Management Excellence (FUME) is designed to provide accelerated experience for our Leaders at Flynn giving them practical, hands-on skills training in such areas as strategy, self-management, communications, conflict resolution and various other leadership areas.

FUPE is a specially designed course for junior and senior estimators, as well as estimating managers. The program does not focus on the technical skills of estimating, but rather the professional skills needed to be successful in these roles.

CAM’S KIDS

Cam’s Kids is an organization that supports young people struggling with anxiety and mental health issues. The goal of Cam’s Kid’s partnership with Flynn is to provide awareness and support to employees specifically with children and teen mental health.

C.R.E.W. REFFERAL PROGRAM

You could get a bonus for referring experienced workers to Flynn! The referrer will receive $750 paid out after 6 months of employment. The new hire must include the first name, last name, and employee number of the person who referred them on their new hire paperwork. Bonus amount subject to change. Paid through payroll and subject to taxes & deductions. Employees must be active with Flynn at time of payout.

SCHOLARSHIPS

To promote post-secondary education, Flynn has set up a scholarship program. This program is for the children of Flynn’s employees to help them attain a university or college diploma. 8 scholarships in the amount of $2500 are given out each year! Contact your HR Representative for more information.

T. A. S. K.

Flynn’s T.A.S.K. program (Team Attitude! – Sharing Knowledge) is how you can share and be rewarded for communicating great ideas or best practices nationally. TASKs should positively impact either safety, quality, productivity or cost. All submitted TASKs are reviewed monthly with the best ideas recognized by management. Watch the video for more information.

  • Connect with your Safety Rep & HR Rep
  • Connect with your superintendent to confirm what site/crew you will be working on, and date/times

  • If you are unionized: Go to the union hall to sign referral paperwork after orientation has been completed

If you are a US employee …
